Refund Policy
Last updated: March 1, 2026
1. Overview
Canadian Professional Immigration Consulting ("CPIC," "we," "us," or "our") is committed to providing fair and transparent refund and cancellation terms for all our services. This Refund Policy outlines the terms and conditions under which refunds may be issued for consultation bookings and immigration consulting services.
CPIC operates in compliance with the regulations established by the College of Immigration and Citizenship Consultants (CICC) and the consumer protection laws of the Province of Ontario and Canada.
2. Consultation Bookings
Cancellation by Client
- More than 48 hours before the scheduled consultation: Full refund of the consultation fee.
- 24 to 48 hours before the scheduled consultation: 50% refund of the consultation fee, or the option to reschedule once at no additional cost.
- Less than 24 hours before the scheduled consultation: No refund. You may reschedule once subject to availability and a $25 CAD rescheduling fee.
- No-show: No refund will be issued if you fail to attend your scheduled consultation without prior notice.
Cancellation by CPIC
In the unlikely event that CPIC must cancel or reschedule a consultation, you will be offered a full refund or the option to reschedule at a mutually convenient time at no additional cost.
Rescheduling
You may reschedule your consultation once free of charge if the request is made at least 48 hours before the scheduled time. Additional rescheduling requests may be subject to a $25 CAD administrative fee.
3. Immigration Consulting Services
Refund terms for full immigration consulting service packages are governed by the written retainer agreement between you and CPIC. The general terms are as follows:
Before Work Commences
If you cancel the retainer agreement before CPIC has begun any substantive work on your case, you are entitled to a full refund of the retainer fee, minus a $100 CAD administrative fee to cover initial file setup and review.
After Work Has Commenced
If you cancel after CPIC has begun work on your case, the refund will be calculated based on the work completed. CPIC will provide a detailed accounting of the services rendered and the associated fees. The refund amount will be the retainer fee paid, minus fees for services already rendered at CPIC's standard hourly rate.
Application Submission
Once an immigration application has been submitted to IRCC or any government authority on your behalf, no refund of consulting fees will be issued, as the service has been substantially completed. Government filing fees paid to IRCC are non-refundable and are separate from CPIC's consulting fees.
Application Refusal
CPIC does not guarantee the outcome of any immigration application. A refusal of your application by IRCC or any government authority does not entitle you to a refund of consulting fees, as the service (application preparation, review, and submission) has been rendered regardless of the outcome.
4. Downloadable Resources
Free downloadable resources (guides, checklists, etc.) provided on our Website are offered at no cost and are not subject to this Refund Policy. If CPIC introduces paid digital products in the future, specific refund terms will apply and will be communicated at the time of purchase.
5. Government Fees
Government fees (application processing fees, biometrics fees, right of permanent residence fees, etc.) are paid directly to the Government of Canada and are not controlled by CPIC. These fees are non-refundable by CPIC. Any refund of government fees must be requested directly from the relevant government authority in accordance with their policies.
